Synopsis
Livornese with a short and tormented life, Dedo or Modì, as he was nicknamed, is narrated here from an original point of view: that of Jeanne Hébuterne, the last young companion who committed suicide two days after the death of her beloved, which occurred at Hôpital de la Charité in Paris on January 24, 1920. Jeanne was pregnant at the time and left behind a one-year-old daughter. It is precisely starting from his figure and from reading a passage from the “Canti di Maldoror”, the book that Modigliani always kept with him, that the docu-film opens which also draws inspiration from the exhibition “Modigliani - Picasso. The Primitivist Revolution "¬- curated by Marc Restellini and scheduled at the Albertina in Vienna ¬- and is enriched by the images of works exhibited both at the Albertina and at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, in museums and collections in Paris and in the large exhibition “Modigliani and the Montparnasse Adventure” of the Museum of the City of Livorno.
